Joe and his wife Irene handed the reins to their children, Jerry, Maurice and Paula who operated the business for decades and have recently retired. Glover Lawrence had started the business in 1938 in Rolla and moved it to Dawson Creek. The family-owned-and-operated business takes pride in carrying the same tradition of personalized service and high standards of quality which Joe and Irene Lafond were reputed for. It is cut, processed and packaged locally. In fact most of its meat comes from within a 100-mile radius. Lawrence Meat Packing and its Butcher Block stores have been providing high-quality, local and Canadian-raised meat products to Dawson Creek for nearly 75 years.
